Vocalist posted by Alex on 06-08-2004 05:52
I'm happy to announce that Absynthe now has a vocalist. I met Waleed Hawatsky at a friend of mine's party, and when the discussing hit musical interest, we hit it off. Knowing my interests are similar to those of the boys of Absynthe, I suggested he audition. Things went great with a cover of Sober and Forty Six and Two, and even some improve. Stay posted fellas, good things are yet to come.

Lynyrd Skynyrd... posted by Charles on 05-01-2004 10:33
Another incredible concert tonight, this time Lynyrd Skynyrd at Viejas. Great setlist, great tribute to the ol' USA, and great to see that Johnny Van Zant does his brother justice on vocals. Once again I find myself in debt to Chris Bain, and his cousin Marty for bringing me along. Thanks boys.

Yes... posted by Charles on 04-19-2004 08:19
Alex and I got to see Yes tonight at Cox Arena. It's nice to see that they're still in their absolute prime, 35th Anniversary Tour or not. Fantastic show, but what was with the horrible choice of acoustic Roundabout?

Alex: "Man... they Drowneditout!"
Charles: "Yeah, that was something I Frownedabout."

Ba-dum ching! Seriously though, letdown of the century on that song.

Bel's profile is up. Thanks to me. Stay posted for an interview soon, and a song or two performed by myself and Bel within the next week or so.

A Perfect Circle... posted by Charles on 04-07-2004 22:45
The A Perfect Circle concert was pretty great last night. Not quite a Tool concert, but still great in its own right. Thanks Chris and Big Dave Bainses.

Dream Theater... posted by Charles on 03-08-2004 08:37
I feel sorry for anyone who didn't get to go to Dream Theater tonight. So awesome. Where was the drum solo though? Where was The Glass Prison? Still, so amazing.

Best Fest... posted by Charles on 03-02-2004 11:41
I've posted the current version of The Circular Ruins video in the visual section, as submitted to Best Fest. This is, by no means, the final version. Today was the deadline for Best Fest entries, and the animations were incomplete, so I had to film some live footage that more or less acts out some of the animations that will be seen in the completed version. Some of it works, some doesn't, but it'll do fine for the time being. Hopefully I'll have the final version done in time for the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, and start work on a bigger and better video for either No Sun Without Shadow or Absynthesis... whichever I decide to make first. Anyways, download the Best Fest video and leave negative or positive feedback. Both will be appreciated.

You can also download the video by clicking here. Just Right Click; Save Target As ...and comment.

Be in the Absynthe video... posted by Charles on 01-30-2004 14:47
Gino is back from Italy, and I may or may not be filming a new segment of The Circular Ruins video this weekend which would require the participation of a few of you as audience members... so respond if you're interested in appearing in the final product, you'd be thanked in the credits and get to hear the band jam.
